  • Online Workshop

‘Developmental Language Disorder’ (DLD) is the nationally and internationally accepted term to describe difficulties acquiring language for no known reason.  However, clinicians are reporting a lack of confidence using this new terminology in their day-to-day work. This online workshop has been specifically designed to support clinicians in private practice, education and health with embedding current research into the realities of their clinical practice.

This workshop will be hosted online using Zoom.  Details will be emailed to participants in the days prior to the workshop. To enable time for the facilitator and participants to connect, this workshop will be capped at 25 participants. Please book as soon as you’ve decided to attend to avoid missing out.

Following completion of the workshop, you will be invited to FREE quarterly group mentoring sessions to help you to continue building your confidence.

Following completion of the workshop, clinicians will:

  • Understand the current research regarding diagnosing DLD.
  • Be familiar with diagnosis in pre-school and school-aged children, as well as working with adolescents, multilingual children, and adults.
  • Have exposure to applying the diagnostic process with case studies.

This workshop has been developed for speech pathologists. However, clinical psychologists and speech pathology students may also consider attending. Please email with any questions regarding the registration process.

Shaun Ziegenfusz is a speech pathologist and researcher with more than 10 years’ experience working with people with DLD and their families. He currently works in private practice and collaboratively with schools to provide assessment and intervention pathways. Shaun is also a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate at Griffith University where he researches the needs and necessary supports for school-aged students with DLD from the perspective of key stakeholders, as well as being a volunteer member of the Raising Awareness of Developmental Language Disorder (RADLD) International Committee. Shaun is passionate about blending clinical experience and research to support students, families, professionals and schools.

Would love to join but work on a Tuesday and can’t get out of this time. Are there any other days it will be available? E.g. Friday or weekends?
