‘Developmental Language Disorder’ (DLD) is the nationally and internationally accepted term to describe difficulties acquiring language for no known reason. However, clinicians are reporting a lack of confidence using this new terminology in their day-to-day work. This online workshop has been specifically designed to support clinicians in private practice, education and health with embedding current research into the realities of their clinical practice.
This workshop is a private event for the Department of Education of South Australia and it will be hosted online using Teams. Details will be emailed to participants in the days prior to the workshop.
learning objectives
Following completion of the workshop, clinicians will:
- Understand the current research regarding diagnosing DLD.
- Be familiar with diagnosis in pre-school and school-aged children, as well as working with adolescents, multilingual children, and adults.
- Have exposure to applying the diagnostic process with case studies.
