About DLD Together

‘DLD Together’ is an initiative by two UK charities which focus on Developmental Language Disorder(DLD): Afasic (for families) and NAPLIC (for professionals). They have combined forces with The DLD Project Foundation in Australia because they are aware that families want to know more about DLD and are finding it hard to access information. We collectively believe that well informed and well supported families are essential if children and young people with DLD are to reach their full potential.

course aims

For you:

1. To understand about DLD and how it applies to your child
2. To develop an understanding of your child’s individual language profile 
3. To develop strategies to support your child at home
4. To learn how you can support your child’s learning
5. To meet other families of children with DLD

• 7 x 1.5 hour online live workshops delivered via Zoom. This is free but you will need access to a computer or tablet. 
• 10 families from across Australia will participate in the 7-week program.
•  You will need a relatively distraction free environment. We understand that family life is busy, but we ask that you commit to attending all sessions.
• Places on the course are ‘family places’, so other adult family members are welcome. The deal is that one family member attends all sessions.
• This course is open to all families who have a child who has been diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorder.

• Week 3: Monday 26th May, 7:00pm – 8:30pm AEST
• Week 4: Monday 2nd June, 7:00pm – 8:30pm AEST
• Week 5: Monday 9th June, 7:00pm – 8:30pm AEST
• Week 6: Monday 16th June 7:00pm – 8:30pm AEST
• Week 7: Monday 23rd June, 7:00pm – 8:30pm AEST
